About Monnickendam

Monnickendam’s long trading history provides an exceptionally rich and varied source of experience to draw upon, and has given us the time to develop and establish a core set of fundamental values and ethics. Tradition has its place in a progressive business and we do cherish this greatly in whatever we do at Monnickendam. Nonetheless, Monnickendam, like time, never stops. We always remain alert and responsive to modern challenges and develop innovative approaches to the diamond market and techniques in diamond cutting and polishing.

Monnickendam Diamonds

Monnickendam Diamonds is one of the oldest and largest sellers of loose and certified diamonds in the UK. Through continued innovation and ambition to be a leader in the industry, the company has kept its position at the top of the market place. To ensure continued, guaranteed value to clients, Monnickendam decided to relinquish being a sight-holder in 2003, having been one since 1929. This move provided Monnickendam with the greater flexibility to purchase diamonds from a larger range of sources. Greater choice enables Monnickendam to always purchase at competitive prices and select according to the specific requirements of our clients.

It is worth remembering that for all the polished diamonds supplied by Monnickendam, the rough has been sourced in strict adherence to the Kimberly Process. Thereby, adding to the reassurance our clients receive when purchasing diamonds of excellent quality and value, knowing they have been sourced with impeccable ethics.

Monnickendam Diamonds’ trading policy includes a commitment to applying and adhering to the principles and ethics espoused within the codes of practice promoted by the Responsible Jewellery Council. In addition, we aim to encourage our trading partners to encompass responsible ethical, social and environmental practices, respecting human rights, throughout the diamond, gold and platinum group metals jewellery supply chain from mine to market, by also becoming certified members of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
